T is for Teacher . . .
A glittering gift? A knife to the heart?
Past trees spattered with gold, there is truth in reflection.
A glass crystal dimples at the sun.
He snapped and his heart protested.
A slice of bronze cut with purple.
H is for Honesty . . .
A pink can, peeking out from beneath a tire.
V is for Vortex . . .
Wings in the mist but perhaps it is teeth?
Fine threads of black, knotted into masks.
A diamond minute, suspended between black hands.
A golden apple, shining in the sun.
F is for Family . . .
It is not that foster parents are unequipped to handle kids; foster parents are required to take parenting classes. The problem is that there are few people in the country who actually know how to be parents.
