I am honored to share my poem, Save Your Tears for Another Day, is published in The Anthropocene Hymnal, an anthology of poetry exploring the personalities and consciousness of climate change!
The poetry in Art of Escape is short but meticulous and sure of itself. The words know what they need to say, and they say it proudly. From the armadillo to the octopus to us, we live and take breath from the same land. Home is where we make it.
When I was offered a copy of Mary Mackey's most recent poetry collection, The Jaguars That Prowl Our Dreams, in exchange for a review, I was a little hesitant to accept. But, since I always love trying something new and am never disappointed by how much I learn when I step outside my comfort zone, I decided to snatch up this chancing opportunity.
The images and voices of people who care to see the earth flourish for generations to come inspired me, speaking worth into something as little as a hair clip. I remember walking in the warm afternoon sunlight to join the climate rally at one of my local parks. Even in my small town, people care.
